“The old family cabin. There is no road to it, no marker or hint of its existence. It’s up an impossibly steep hill that is made only somewhat passable if you follow the faint animal-made switchbacks. I can’t help but envision the brothers that built it, somehow scaling the hill with the supplies necessary, grunting with the effort, eyes alight with the plan.

And then, all of a sudden you see it. Chink and log nearly melding into the trees around it, a break in the canopy, and that sapphire blue expanse that has no end.

There’s an Adirondack chair probably older than I in the perfect spot. I sink in as however many before me have too, release it all and simply be. In this moment. In this place.
